‘Swish’ start to 2008 for Stuga, Sturtz and B-Warm With a target to start fabricating the new systems at the start of 2008 B-Warm bosses Paul and Derek Hines decided to upgrade their fabrication facility in Hinckley with a strong dose of automation and chose Stuga as their machinery partner. Realising that you either have to invest or die a slow lingering death in the current market place Paul and Derek put a large chunk of money aside to bring their fabrication plant up to date. Having seen the Stuga Microline cutting & prepping centre working and realising that it was the idea machine for the medium sized fabricator with space limitations As a result of the forward thinking policy of Paul and Derek Stuga installed the Microline centre together with a combination CNC corner and transom cleaner, a four head welder, a butt welder and a new ‘V’ notch saw. The result of this project is that B-Warm have changed to a new profile, added internally glazed welded transoms to their traditional mechanical transom set up and continued to fabricate their old system to complete current orders while the changeover was being carried out. B-Warm also has considerably more fabrication capacity without the need to employ less rather than more people. Paul Hines has been particularly impressed to see the planning that Stuga go to on such a project with a one day visit by a consultant to go through everything required in detail long before installation |
